Liver Disease Solutions Proven to be Safe and Effective

Written by Jonathan Landsman

(Naturalhealth365) Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), the presence of excess fat in the liver, is approaching epidemic proportions – with experts estimating the prevalence at 20 to 30 percent worldwide. And, since NAFLD is strongly linked to being overweight, the alarming rise of liver disease is expected to continue.

But, according to natural health expert Ellen Tart-Jensen, Ph.D., D.Sc., proper cleansing and nutritional support of the liver and gallbladder can greatly help to ward off life-altering conditions like, liver disease – before it even starts.

Fact: Natural medicine is BETTER than conventional protocols to eliminate liver disease

On the next NaturalHealth365 Talk Hour, Jonathan Landsman and internationally recognized nutritional expert Dr. Ellen Jensen discuss the signs and symptoms of liver toxicity – and how to address it with a drug-free natural protocol.

Unexplained weight gain, depression, irregular bowel movements, anger issues, PMS and excessive sweating are just a few of the signs of liver dis-ease. Don’t miss our next program for solutions.

Warning: A toxic liver creates a toxic body

The liver works along with the kidneys, gallbladder and bile ducts to help the body process fats and eliminate toxins – two indispensable tasks. The liver also produces bile, which is stored in the gallbladder, and helps to regulate levels of amino acids and glucose in the blood.

This versatile organ performs an amazing trick when it comes to neutralizing toxins such as drugs, nicotine, caffeine and chemicals. After absorbing the pollutants, the liver actually alters their chemical structure so that they are water-soluble – and then excretes them through the bile, causing them to be harmlessly ushered from the body.

Of course, even the remarkable neutralizing powers of the liver aren’t unlimited. Dr. Jensen reports that the liver can be overwhelmed by toxic overload, causing it to become acidic, congested and polluted. Excessive exposure to alcohol, medications and environmental toxins – such as pesticides, heavy metals and synthetic chemicals – can push a struggling liver towards toxicity, and a litany of health problems.

To be clear: the symptoms of liver toxicity include muscle and joint pain, negative or irritated mood, hormonal imbalances, migraines, and chronic fatigue. Some surprising additional signs that can indicate liver toxicity include itchiness, skin problems, poor eyesight, constipation, painful menstrual cycles and allergies.

(Important note for women: Dr. Jensen reports that a toxic liver can cause an excess of estrogen in the body, resulting in bloating, irritability, headaches, depression and sugar cravings – all the unpleasant hallmarks of PMS).

Fortunately, a drug-free protocol exists for liver detoxification

Dr. Jensen advises an organic, GMO-free diet – with the elimination of refined sugar, alcohol, processed foods, junk foods and fast foods.

Foods high in iron – such as mustard greens, kale, parsley, arugula and cilantro – can help detoxify the liver, along with gluten-free whole grains such as buckwheat and quinoa. Chlorella, a type of fresh-water green algae, excels at absorbing toxins as well.

Dr. Jensen reports that high-quality supplements – such as milk thistle and dandelion root — can also play a major role in liver support, while the herb known as burdock can cleanse and filter the blood.

Important note: When it comes to cleansing, Dr. Jensen stresses that the bowel must be cleansed before the liver and gallbladder. Otherwise, a toxic overload can result – triggering headaches, nausea and vomiting.

Bottom line, it’s important to have guidance from an experienced healthcare professional, notes Dr. Jensen – especially when trying to clean out the liver and gallbladder (for the first time) – which is why you must hear the next NaturalHealth365 Talk Hour with Dr. Jensen.
