The Law of Attraction teaches us that whatever we think, we become, and whatever we wish to manifest, can be attracted to us by our thoughts, vibration, and intention. While the Law of Attraction is accurate in that our thoughts create our reality, the “secret” of The Secret is that this type of manifesting is still from a dualistic place.

Our brain, like the Yin and Yang, has two hemispheres – and while we are thinking something positive, at the same exact time we are thinking something negative as well. The hermetic text, The Kybalion, teaches us that: “Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”

What this means is that when we manifest from our minds, we are still manifesting from a place of ego, a place of “I want”, thinking primarily from the “me” perspective. We live in a three dimensional reality where, until we experience radical change, we are driven by three dimensional pursuit. If you notice, most of what The Secret teaches us how to manifest are things…new car, new shoes, new bike, etc. Mind based desires are from a place of “want”, not necessarily “need”.

This “want” place of dualistic thinking separates us from the whole, the one truth. Not to say the material want is “bad”, as there is no good or bad, there only is…however, it is important to understand the difference between the “need” and the “want”, and where the intention is coming from.

While the “want” comes from the mind, the “need” comes from the heart. The heart is the one place of pure, positive energy, non-dualistic, unclouded by ego, only aware of feeling. So when thinking about what you “need”, think about what you would truly want if money didn’t exist – think about what made you happiest as a child, before monetary value came into your reality, where the truest value was from what made you feel best. These experiences are what carries with you through catharsis (the heart), the other experiences (of the mind) are merely temporary (temporal).

To synthesize the Law of Attraction with your heart, this is the key…

Follow the beat of your heart to find your rhythm, and fine tune the frequency of your thoughts for what is stationary. This way all that you will attract will be harmonious, and the music of your life will have a beautiful melody.
