Plato was one of the founding fathers of Western thought, constantly pondering, and philosophizing, even 2,000 years ago, he seemed to have an advanced understanding of humanity.
The translation in the video above of Plato’s “The Allegory of the Cave”, narrated by Orson Welles, describes the societal problem that we still face to this day….barriers to humanity’s access to knowledge.
Many operate within “The Matrix” we have come to know as reality, because they are merely operating from the level of consciousness they attained from their life experiences. Years of indoctrination, institutional education, and false idolization tend to cultivate a limited mind, hence is the exact issue tackled in “The Allegory of the Cave”. It’s not that the consciousness is not there to be discovered, it is merely only limited by circumstance and cultural “norms”.
Many are awakening and seeing the reality of the light that produces the shadows. We are on a collective journey of embracing the human birthright that is our conscious awakening. We can escape “The Matrix” if we allow new information to permeate from a place of logic and understanding, and it is up to us to continue to educate ourselves and know that knowledge is a life long quest that doesn’t just end at what culture dictates to be the “truth”.
